Apple icloud cryptomator1/8/2024 ![]() I will test around with this a bit more, also with adding a hierarchy of folders.Īnd I did not yet have a look at different document types. That would mean that I need to make sure that I get everything into one folder, so that there is no need to add more folders later. They don't form one vault, they seem to be totally separate. Mabye the local filesystem is lacking something? I may test this again later. OneDrive senses changes and uploads changed files, or changed deltas of files. either I did something wrong, or this is indeed a problem. That made me wonder, why this was not the case for a regular local folder. I then created some test MarkDown files in those locations and added them as new vaults to Obsidian.Ĭhanges both from Obsidian and from the regular filesystem (via vi) did reflected back nearly instantly. I've not seen anything in my own experience to contradict this so far.įor this, I created a VeraCrypt container on OneDrive cloud storage and also a Cryptomator Vault on OneDrive, so that all devices could access those. Everything they say indicates you should be able to edit your documents in any tool. I've not seen anything in my own experience to contradict this so said: I suppose if stored somewhere else it might be different. I didn't even need to save the file in Textastic. I just edited one of the files in the vault using Textastic, and the change was visible instantly. Indeed sad, as Obsidian was very very promising!ĮDIT: Let's wait, maybe such things will be added later. I want to be able to add and change content in the folder hierarchy from outside of Obsidian. It only allows to import content, currently even only on Mac.Īnd after the import, you can only modify and change content within Obsidian. If this is the final truth, Obsidian would be quite useless to me. It seems, that Obsidian is importing the content, not only using such a folder.Īt least, I tried to change one of the files with an editor and then looked back at what Obsidian was offering me - and the change was not there! Also not after restarting Obsidian.
